Nokia is hoping to take the Android smartphone market by storm with its X aka Normandy handset. Here's what you need to know

Backed by Microsoft, Finnish phone manufacturer Nokia is certainly, though slowly, climbing the ladder of success in the Windows Phone arena. Now, the tech giant is all set to broaden its horizons and join the Android bandwagon with its latest offering - the Normandy. Nokia is said to be prepping the device with a host of new-age functionalities that will keep in relevant in the highly competitive mobile world.
The latest word around the tech world is that Nokia has priced its new handset to appeal to a wide range of buyers. WMPowerUser came across a listing of the Nokia X A110 Normandy on the Vietnamese online retail website Mainguyen through Techrum.vn. On the site, Nokia's newbie is listed at a price point of 2.2 million to 2.5 million VND which translates to around $110. In terms of Indian currency, the phone is priced at approximately Rs. 6,800.
At a reasonable price point such as this, the Normandy X is sure to be desirable to a large number of users, especially in developing markets in Asia. Of course, the listing on the Vietnamese site does warn that 'The company has not officially announced!' under the phone's status and it is quite likely that its price will be revised before its official launch, but it should still remain an affordable buy.
What is interesting is that Mainguyen lists the Normandy X with the same set of features that the phone has long been rumoured to have. It is, in a lot of ways, exactly what one would expect a phone in its price range to be - with one unique feature: its blend of the Android and Windows way of doing things. Powered by a dual-core 1 GHz processor, it promises to be functional and efficient - a combination desirable by all smartphone users.
